Meretrix lyrata
Bivalve mollusc with low fat content.
It is noted for its content of B vitamins (to a large extent B12) and minerals such as iron, potassium, selenium and calcium.
Its iron content makes it an ideal food for people suffering from anaemia, and the presence of zinc causes them to increase the defences and strengthen the immune system.
